You woke up on time, completed all your chores and all your family members got into their respective hybrid cars to go to work. You are mentally prepared for a tough day at office. You know that you will have very little time for yourself when you come back. You will have to come back, complete some more chores, cook food, gulp it down and go to sleep so that you are ready for anther tough day.
In such a scenario, it is natural to feel that you do not have any time for yourself. After all, it is a the fast paced world that we are living in. Well, here is some news for you – it has always been a fast-paced world for an ambitious individual. Travel back a few thousand years and you will find that life was stressful then as well.
The onus is upon you to take some time out for yourself for your own good. Let us say you are stuck in rush hour traffic. The traffic light in front has turned red and you know that you have about 90-120 seconds with nothing to do. What is stopping you from meditating in your car? You can set an alarm that will bring you back in sixty seconds. You can even have soft music in your cell phone or music player to help you get into the mood.
Even if you manage to meditate for half a minute at every traffic stop, you may end up by meditating for five to ten minutes on a long trip to your office. Repeat this when you are returning and you will automatically feel the difference as far as your stress levels are concerned
